Conference curated by Alessandra Acocella and Caterina Toschi
Scientific Committee Barbara Cinelli, Flavio Fergonzi,
Alberto Salvadori, Tiziana Serena
Florence, Auditorium di Sant’Apollonia, November 22-23, 2016
The conference is focused on contemporary arts archives with particular attention to the Tuscan context. The main objective is an in-depth examination on new features acquired by archives since the ’60s, when documentary collections became critical devices of diffused memories that gather multiple and complex materials, such as artist books and films, photographs, magazines, postcards and ephemera. On November 22nd, young scholars will introduce a selection of artist films and videos; on November 23rd, national and international speakers will discuss on contemporary art archive as an information tool and as a place for research. The conference is promoted by Senzacornice | Research and Education Lab for Contemporary Art and supported by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze, Osservatorio per le Arti Contemporanee-Fondazione CRF and Piccoli Grandi Musei-Toscana ’900. In collaboration with Regione Toscana and Soprintendenza Archivistica and Bibliografica della Toscana.
