An extraordinary piano concert marks the return to Florence Uri Caine, whose artistic career is linked by time to the activities of the Concentus Musicus.
The pianist Uri Caine is one of the most brilliant and versatile actors of today’s music, an artist as sensitive and versatile clothing has also demonstrated the role of artistic director for the Venice Music Biennale in 2003.
Caine has used his listeners to follow him into the business unsettling, its visionary interpretations of the classical repertoire – a job started with a tribute to Gustav Mahler and continued with the lieder by Robert Schumann, the Goldberg Variations by Johann Sebastian Bach and the Diabelli Variations Ludwig Van Beethoven (published on CD by the label Winter & Winter), which assured him an extraordinary success – to be called up with a program dedicated to the music Mahler, also from the prestigious classical music festival in Salzburg.
In his projects, that have seen the gamut from jazz to classical European repertoire of Thelonious Monk and Herbie Hancock, Uri Caine chose to work with organic variables to compare different musicality, jazz, classical, electronic, rock and klezmer, qualifying as one Architects sound more intelligent and sensitive.
From the beginnings not yet eighteen in Philadelphia along with legends such as saxophonist Hank Mobley, and drummer Art Blakey, evidence of current with clarinetist Don Byron, trumpeter Dave Douglas and violinist Mark Feldman, Uri Caine has always shown one of the more enlightened and creative artists of today’s music.
